Certificate of Professional Competency (Drivers) PCV and LGV

Driver CPC/PCV

On the 12th September 2008 EU legislation became law in the UK requiring drivers of PCV's to not only be competent in their driving ability but also to prove competence in other areas of operations.  These areas are not specified in the legislation and can be specific to a drivers or companies requirements.  To prove competency in these areas a driver must undertake 35 hours of training split into 5 x 7hour periods of instruction over a 5 year period, in courses that have been approved by the DSA in the UK.

Drivers who held a licence prior to the inception date of 12th September 2008 are granted their CPC qualification for the first 5 year period but must have completed their 35 hours of training by 12 September 2013 to be able to continue to work for hire or reward.

Martins Driver Training and Development in conjunction with our partner WTTL are able to offer a number of courses that are already approved as part of that 35 hour requirement.

Should you have any specific requirements for course content Martins Driver Training and Development would be more than please to discuss course content, construction and approval as part of the ongoing CPC requirements for your company.
